Stylish Looks, Tuned Heartbeat: YAMAHA SR400 Custom by GOODS
GOODS' SR400
Motor Garage GOODS is mostly known for customization focusing on the appearance of the bike, such as chopper and cafe racer styles, but in fact, it is well known among core SR riders that they have recently begun specializing in Dynojet injection tuning. The SR400 introduced here uses an F.I. model as its base and boasts both engine tuning and exterior customization. The concept of this machine is "a fashionable SR that is not overdone, and allows the rider to feel the true fun of the bike". The Lucas-type headlight and Sparrow Bar handlebars are just some of the shop's original parts used to create a light and nimble style. Additionally, the seat is a one-off, enhancing originality. The fuel tank with side ribs and chopped bottom is also a must-see.
The most notable point is the engine. The displacement has been increased to 500cc, and a Negotiator sub-computer is equipped to enable correction of fuel conditioning. Combined with the use of the Dynojet, the engine is now perfectly tuned. Incidentally, the O2 sensor has been relocated to the brand new original hand-bent stainless steel exhaust pipe. Not only does this bike have a stylish look, but it's also been customized to be fun to ride. This is what SR customs are all about!
Handle
The classic style of the Lucas-type headlight is enhanced even further with a pipe bracket mount.
The exquisite forward leaning posture obtained with the Sparrow Bar handlebars is popular with SR riders. The bar-end shaft on which the mirror is mounted is a one-off.
Bodyworks
The fuel tank uses the stock tank as a base, but has been heavily modified to achieve both an SR-like look and an original custom look.
The seat is a one-off to match this machine's custom concept. GOODS produces a plethora of original parts, which makes their willingness to create one-offs as needed even more impressive.
This fender eliminator kit is an excellent part that also stores the battery.
Intake & Exhaust
GOODS' popular Tapered Cone Exhaust is installed. The stock O2 sensor has been reinstalled in the exhaust pipe.
Chassis
The front fender is a shortened version of the stock fender. Hats off to the idea of adding a twist to the stock fender rather than replacing everything!
The swingarm is extended by 50mm and you can see that the mounting area has been modified.
