Here is a "YAMAHA MT-09(FZ-09)" custom by Webike community user "Ponta". The owner heard a rumor that the MT-09 was the second coming of the RZ and was curious about it, so he decided to go for a test ride. He liked the lightness, which was hard to believe for a big bike, and the engine feeling that had a real kick, so when he made it back to the shop he signed the contract the moment he got off the bike.

Some disadvantages that he mentions are that the suspension becomes unstable from a certain speed and the forward-sloping seat causes some pain. To solve the problem of the unstable suspension, Ohlins springs were installed in the front and an Ohlins Rear Shock Unit YA335 for the rear. For the seat, he had GEL-ZAB padding embedded in the stock seat, and the shape flattened to improve sitting comfort. The upholstery is in the stock style, but the stitching is orange to add an accent.

Other exterior features include a Magical Racing Under Cowl and STRIKER Rear Fender, both carbon parts, to improve appearance and reduce aerodynamic drag. For the rear, a Fender Eliminator Kit from ACTIVE further streamlines the bike's form. A GEN-X Touring Windshield by F.FABBRI was chosen for the windshield, but since it was just a smoked color and didn't have much flair he used a cutting sheet to dress it up. The MT mark and logo were added to make it look like stock, and the owner was very pleased with the result.

The handlebar area is also modified with an EFFEX EZ-FIT TAPER BAR for a more comfortable position. Although it moves just 10mm closer and shortens the bar by 30mm compared to stock, just a few centimeters can greatly change the position, making for a much more comfortable ride. U-KANAYA's Foldable R-type Aluminum Billet Lever Set was also installed. This set is available in a total of seven different colors, but since the owner didn't want the levers to stand out too much, he chose black for the lever color and gold for the adjusters. They blend in well with the overall look of the bike, and since they simply replace the stock levers, installation is a snap. The owner says that the MT-09 is a bike that people can go both ways on, but he is completely in love with it.
