Clip-On Magic: SUZUKI KATANA Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "SUZUKI KATANA" custom by Webike community user "WHO-chan". The owner's beloved KATANA only grows more endearing the more time they spend together. As the red lettering under the seat indicates, this bike has been customized mainly with parts by WestPower.
The exhaust features a titanium WestPower Slip-On with a slash-cut exhaust port. Both front and rear fenders, as well as the tank cover, windshield and meter cover set, are also from the same brand. Since the stock handlebars made it hard to focus during sport riding, the owner opted for the WestPower Clip-On Handlebar Kit to improve this aspect. This change allows the rider's upper body to lean forward the proper amount when straddling the bike, and for the head to be in line with the stem shaft, giving the rider a perfect grip angle. Unlike the stock KATANA, which keeps the rider's upper body nearly upright, this lower and more aggressive riding position enhances the feeling of unity with the machine. Cornering has become more enjoyable, and the owner says he gets excited when the weekend approaches.
The machined aluminum WestPower Riding Steps offer five different bar positions to choose from. The compatibility with the clip-on handlebars, as well as the feel of the footpeg, and the touch on the shift and rear brake, are all excellent. The suspension has been upgraded to an OHLINS Rear Shock Absorber, known for its extremely smooth damping. Equipped with a hydraulic preload adjuster that can be quickly set with minimal effort, along with 20-level damping force adjustment, it can be flexibly adjusted to suit various situations and riders. The difference is obvious even just riding over small bumps.
