Best Balance of Displacement & Riding Posture: GSX750S KATANA Custom
OHNO SPEED's GSX750S KATANA
This is the Japanese-spec Suzuki GSX750S1, one of OHNO-SPEED's works. Not only wheels, frame, engine and carburetor are remained as stock.Furthermore, there are no fins under the cowl, and the handlebars are the stock up-type of the S1.
As mentioned above, this bike consists almost entirely of stock 750S1's parts. However, the heavy clutch is dramatically lighter than before, or as light as the recent bikes. Better brake precision and touch. The seat with moderate firmness makes the riding position more relaxed. Steering is slim and moveable widely, without the weighty feel of the GSX1100S's clamped handles, and handle grip also fit your hands naturally. This custom is thus very easy to ride in a city, and should be able to be ridden a lot without hesitation. In terms of difficulty of this bike, the engine and another parts have been discontinued in most cases, so you may need to pay a lot for them. The front forks are stock, but slightly modified. For rear, NITRON's suspension is installed and raised 20mm with lower adapters. Tires are ContiClassicAttack, 120/90 size in the rear. The rear fender is removed to solve an interference with the tire. There's also a small compartment. As a result of practice, the negatives caused by raising the tail too much in the katana were avoided, and this bike got a comfortable position, rear stroke, and recommended tires.
Bodyworks
The windshield is produced by OHNOSPEED with the stock GSX1100S shape and sufficient thickness, and is coated with titanium. Headlights were changed to H4 LEDs to upgrade the brightness. The high-leveled clip on handles are 750S1 stock with forged aluminum, and the mirrors are stock as well.
The carbon fiber tail cowling, which gives the bike a custom look, is made by OHNOSPEED and replicates the stock one, including the installation shape. OHNOSPEED's Big Fender Eliminator Kit fits inside, providing ample storage space and rear tire clearance.
Handle
An initial adjuster was added to the Φ37mm front fork. The front master cylinder is a Nissin radial and the reservoir brackets are made by OHNOSPEED. The clutch lever kit is also by OHNOSPEED and is impressively light to operate.
Chassis
The front brake caliper is converted to a Nissin opposed 4-piston using OHNO-SPEED TYPE-R310 caliper supports (A7075/90mm pitch) for GSX750S/1100S stock forks and wheels. In addition, the brake disc rotors have been changed to Sunstar for better braking power and control.
The drivetrain is highly efficient with RK's H.C.S. premium sprocket/chain for 520 size conversion. Incidentally, the stock chain for the GSX750S1 is size 530 (630 for the 1100S). The rear shocks are mounted on the lower side with the 20mm size of OHNO-SPEED's special bracket for NITRON's Adjustable Suspension.
The stock large-diameter rear brakes are balanced by OHNO-SPEED's prototype RACING Rear Brake Change Kit, which matches the strengthened front brakes. There are Φ220mm Sunstar Works expanded disc rotors + Nissin 2P calipers. The exhaust is Asahina's Titanium 4-1.
