BrightLogic's GSX-R1000
Here we have a 2008 SUZUKI GSX-R1000 K8. The stock pattern coloring makes it look stock at first glance, but the headlight and the cowl fasteners on the sides indicate that the exterior has been replaced. The fact that it is put together in such a natural way conversely leaves a good impression.
"As mentioned, the exterior of this bike has been replaced with an FRP cowl kit by CLEVER WOLF, and the brake parts have all been changed to Brembo. It was already equipped with the left and right dual exhaust and Marchesini wheels when it was brought into the shop. The owner liked the cowl used on YOSHIMURA's All-Japan racers and said he had been wanting to come to our shop for a long time to get this bike customized. I think it turned out great,” said Mr. Takenaka of Bright Logic.
Takenaka has customized many replicas of YOSHIMURA's GSX-R1000 racers (both All-Japan Road Race and Suzuka 8 Hours machines) for street use. He added, “Models up to K9 or so are easy to use as a base because they are less prone to electrical errors. The K5 and later models have a slipper clutch, and if you add an auto shifter, that's almost all you need. Perhaps for this reason, there are many people who ride these models for a long time and don't give them up easily. Also, CLEVER WOLF cowls have good installation precision and are lightweight, so I highly recommend them."
The policy of actively using good products on a good base, combined with putting together the look that the owner wants, has resulted in the evolution of this machine. On top of that, weight has been reduced, and the touch and effectiveness of the brake system have been updated, which has surely enhanced the owner's attachment to this bike.
Handle
The clutch has been changed from wire to hydraulic, and the master cylinder has been replaced with a Brembo for an upgraded touch. The front brake master cylinder is also a Brembo.
Bodyworks
The exterior has been replaced with CLEVER WOLF's '09- GSX-R1000 Street Full Cowl. This is a high-strength endurance cowl for the street, and the headlight is a PIAA H4 bulb that is also included with the cowl. For mirrors, Magical Racing's Racer Replica Mirror TYPE-3 Head were chosen.
The seat was converted to a Supreme Seat. Even with such a small rider's seat, the hold and comfort can be enhanced if the product is carefully selected. The rear side has a space for storing small items.
Bright Logic actively uses CLEVER WOLF cowls on the GSX-R series and Hayabusa because of their high installation precision, stock-like strength (to withstand vibration, etc.), and light weight. Another reason is the fact that the stock mirrors and side stand can also be installed.
Engine
The engine and frame are stock, and YOSHIMURA Engine Sliders are installed on both sides of the crankcase. Bright Logic's stance is to utilize the stock parts if they are sufficient, and to use aftermarket parts if they are better. And they have a keen eye for choosing the right parts.
Chassis
The front forks use a stock base, and the front brakes have been modified with Brembo radial billet calipers and Brembo discs.
The 3.50-17/6.00-17 size front and rear wheels are Marchesini 10-spoke Forged M10S. These wheels and the YOSHIMURA dual silencer were installed prior to this customization. The exhaust was chosen because the owner particularly liked its sound. The rear shock is stock.
The steps are NC machined by AGRAS. The rear brakes are composed of a Brembo CNC 2P caliper + SUNSTAR disc. Both tires are Bridgestone S22.
