Project Started by Fixing a Damaged Engine: ZEPHYR750 Custom
Bagus!'s ZEPHYR750
There are several reasons for starting customization depending on the owners. This ZEPHYR750 custom started with fixing a crankcase that had been damaged in a previous crash. The bike had been ridden for a long time without any inspections by professionals on a regular basis, so its overall condition was really bad. The first step was to disassemble everything and paint the frame. The engine was overhauled and a piston kit released by Bagus! was installed. And the other parts inside were checked and replaced to match the larger displacement for a higher level. However, despite the increase in displacement to 843cc, a high camshaft was not introduced, nor was the frame reinforced. because the specifications are not so extreme along with the owner's taste. He brings it for street riding, not racing. The excellent custom paint job by RODS DESIGN makes it easy for anyone to recognize this bike as a unique custom bike at first glance.
About its suspension, OHLINS front forks is installed with a Bagus! original offset bracket and NITRON rear shocks that has been machined into the frame and laid down to improve road-following performance. ZEPHYR750 is basically good in tems of steering, and forged aluminum wheels by GALE SPEED makes such characteristic better with decreased unsprung weight. However, as mentioned above, this custom is designed to be easy to ride on the street or winding road, not on the race track.
Engine
The engine has been overhauled and the displacement has increased, but the camshafts have been retained. The reason for this was to make the engine easier to use in the usual way. Of course, this is not the case if the engine is to be used on a race track, but if it is to be used mainly on the street, it is better not to modify it for ease of use.
A FCR Φ35mm carburetor with short spigots designed for the Z2 is installed for a powerful feeling. Short and straight spigots lead to increase intake efficiency.
The increased heat generated by the larger displacement is handled by a round type oil cooler. The frontal projected area is the same, but it has a wider core than the straight type, so a higher heat dissipation effect can be expected.
Handle
ACOSAT's racing type clutch holder provides lighter control. The wire cable is a Teflon tube type, which has less friction than the stock cable for smoother movement.
A STACK tachometer is installed for its accuracy and high visibility. An Active digital monitor is useful not only for checking the temperature of the oil, but also for controlling shift up points and rev limits.
Ohlins 43mm diameter front forks are installed with Bagus! original short offset bracket to improve road-following performance, which lead to a rigid yet light steering.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system combines STRIKER exhaust pipe with an original Bagus! silencer to achieve a smooth-blowing characteristic. It produces a drastic racing sound in the high-rpm range.
Bodyworks
The superb tank, painted by RODS DESIGN, is originally a Z2 type from an unknown manufacturer. The side covers and tail cowl are also from an unknown manufacturer. The under cowl is made by KDC.
The tidy and clear rear view is achieved by Bagus! original one-piece fender eliminator kit. Popular Z2-style LED tail lamp casually differentiate this bike from others.
The old-fashioned tuck-roll seat is a customized stock seat. Although it may look like a part that focuses completely on appearance, the smooth sides are designed to facilitate weight transfer, and other functional aspects are also taken into consideration.
Chassis
The owner doesn't want to let his bike's rear shocks look like anyone else. These full adjustable NITRON rear shocks are installed for such a reason. These are laid down for better stroke movement.
The front sprocket cover is made by Wheelie for weight reduction and a better look. Starter side covers are also replaced with Bagus! products but painted black to make them less noticeable.
Both front and rear brakes are a combination of Brembo calipers and SUNSTAR disc brake rotors. The front master cylinder has also been replaced with an ACCOSSATO radial pump for better control.
