Perfectly Trimmed: KAWASAKI Z900RS Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "KAWASAKI Z900RS" custom by Webike community user "Kiminari". Drawn to the nostalgic retro design blended with modern technology and performance, the owner chose the Z900RS. With its cutting-edge features and a wealth of aftermarket components, he can ride with peace of mind. This is also the owner’s first motorcycle equipped with ABS, which has enhanced rideability and compensates for skills that naturally decline over time as he ages.
According to the owner, the most worthwhile customizations are, in order: ECU tuning, suspension upgrades, exhaust replacement, and handlebar changes. The rear suspension has been upgraded to an OHLINS Rear Suspension, which significantly reduces the harsh jolts experienced when riding over bumps or uneven surfaces. The exhaust system was replaced with a Yoshimura Hand-Bent Straight Cyclone Duplex Shooter, resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 23%, from the stock 12kg to 9.6kg. The layout of the pipes next to the merge collector ensures sufficient lean angles, enhancing the Z900RS’ cornering performance. The handlebar was swapped for a Hurricane Narrow Type 3 Handlebar Set, which the owner says dramatically changed the riding position. It offers a slightly more upright posture, and he recommends it for riders who feel the stock handlebar is too wide and want a more relaxed stance.
Another significant upgrade in both visual appeal and performance is the installation of the stunning gold-painted GALE SPEED TYPE-GP1S Aluminum Forged Wheels. These aluminum forged wheels take a bucket of unsprung weight off, resulting in improved handling. The owner plans to continue enjoying touring while dedicating meticulous care to his beloved bike, much like tending to a cherished bonsai tree, and remains committed to pursuing an ever more stylish look.
