The Latest Technology Comes Into Play: Z1-R Custom

BULL DOCK's Z1-R

This is the Z1-R full custom by BULL DOCK, constructed with the latest customization ideas. Even though it has been almost 50 years since the first release of the Z1-R, the newest parts and technology appear every time. One example is the GT-M (Genuine Tuning Machine), a full custom machine made to order by BULL DOCK. The blue coloring on the bike and the overall style are similar to the one BULL DOCK has produced in the past as a demonstration of their service.

Lavorante 17 inch aluminum wheels is not look out of place on the Z1-R. The frame was modified, reinforced, and machined. The rear shock laydown was also smartly treated, and the offset of the drive chain and swingarm pivot were modified to accommodate the wider tires. The front forks were enlarged and clamped with the original Mccoy stem, with the fork offset adjusted to obtain the correct amount of trail. The engine was not only repaired and restored, but also tuned using the aftermarket cylinder head that was specially manufactured for the Z1000J series. Moreover, BULL DOCK original cross transmission is installed to ensure smooth rotation and operation. It reduces engine vibration, improves shifting, and allows the engine to shift into gear more smoothly. It reduced engine vibration, improved shift touch, and allowed the engine to shift into gear more smoothly. Engines are usually maintained and modified by specialized shops, but this time, BULL DOCK did such work themselves. This way, various parts were processed as they expected, and if something happens over time, it can be easily dealt with. Other features include FCR Φ35mm carburetors with dual stack funnels, short silencers, a Win Mccoy NEO titanium full exhaust that sounds modest, and casually routed oil lines. These are just the right configurations for a modern Z Custom. The NITRON front forks with silver outer tubes and the front and rear blinkers are also modernized parts. By adding new parts that have never existed before, the world of Z custom still expands.

Bodyworks

The slim and square fuel tank is replaced with an aluminum tank produced by BULL DOCK, one of their original brand Mccoy series. It is rust-free and contributes to the weight reduction of the chassis. The white lines are also inspired by the Z1-R.

A single-seat bikini cowl is Mccoy original. The seat is Mccoy Supreme. It is thin but has an internal structure that reduces fatigue, and the thigh area is shaped for easy movement and better ground reach.

Intake & Exhaust

The engine was processed by BULL DOCK, including internal combustion machining such as boring and honing. Their original dynamometer and one-way clutch kit increase power generation capacity and eliminate one-way clutch slippage, which is a common disadvantage of the Z series. Outboard and offset sprockets support the drive and shift shafts and reduce the load on the transmission bearings. They are also Mccoy originals.

FCR Φ35mm dual stack funnel carburetor was set up along with the selection by the user, displacement and other specificartions.

The exhaust system consists of a Win McCoy NEO full titanium exhaust. The layout looks like 4-2-1, but the internal is 4-1. The Win Mccoy NEO silencer was selected for its cutting-edge design with a machined aluminum end and a short, 200mm titanium shell.

Mccoy rearsets prevent interference at the installation of raised silencer and provide the rider with a fatigue-free position suitable for the 17-inch Z. The rear master is also specially designed for this step to prevent interference between the reservoir tank and the master cylinder.

Handle

The carbon meter panel integrated into the inner cowl features an ULTRA tachometer, Motogadget multimeter, and YOSHIMURA progress meter. A clip-on handlebar made by Mccoy is installed, and a compact HYPERPRO steering damper is mounted on the stem kit. The frame is also modified to accommodate this.

Chassis

The front forks are NITRON NTF43 with a silver-finished outer tube that have been specially tuned. The front brake consists of Brembo .428 calipers and Φ320mm brake discs (multi-spoke design with inner lining, which matches the Z series) co-produced by BULLDOCK and SUNSTAR.

The rear brake consists of a Brembo 2-piston caliper. BULL DOCK and SUNSTAR also make the rear brake discs, as well as the front ones. The floating pins of a brake disc are normally made of stainless steel, but aluminum pins are used for the front and rear to match the look and function of them. The inner discs also have an original design.

The swingarm has a extruded 7N01 aluminum constructed with a pentagonal cross section made by Mccoy. The rear shocks are NITRON's Mccoy Z series, tuned specifically for the Z. The original forged aluminum Lavorante wheels measure 3.50-17 in the front and 6.00-17 in the back. The black version was selected for this bike.
