BULL DOCK's Z1-R
The Z1-R boasts a beautiful contrast with its white finished stock exterior and black-based body/engine section. Once again, this is a complete custom by Bull Dock, created as a GT-M (Genuine Tuning Machine) model. While the custom contents follow the usual GT-M standard customization, the concept is different from the past, where there were customizations with significantly outstanding displacement and specs. This time, the focus is on creating a bike that can be handled just like modern production motorcycles. The bike is designed to run smoothly even during the hot summer months, including proper oil temperature management. Moreover, new elements have been added to the tune menu. For instance, all the crankcase mount bracket bolts have been replaced with new chromoly bolts, ensuring precise thread pitches and enhancing the confidence during assembly.
The writer asked how this Z1-R, with its beautiful contrast of white and black, was customized. The response was, "Basically, we listen to the owner's requests and reflect them in the bike." But there was a further twist. "We carefully grasp the requests and then 'fine-tune' them to make everything come together. We have worked on numerous customizations, ranging from stock-like styles to clip-on handlebars and cowls. Throughout these process, we have repeatedly experimented with balancing the bike's customization while maintaining its overall harmony, accumulating valuable know-how." Even during the creation of a single bike, they continuously "fine-tune" the balance to find the best position. They also adapt to changes in tire sizes, reevaluating the bike's posture and suspension movement to achieve the optimal fit. That's why the end result looks so naturally put together, rather than mechanically assembled.
Handle
The clutch has been hydraulically operated, and the left and right master cylinders have been replaced with Brembo RCS. The reservoir tank is cleverly integrated into the inner side of the bikini cowl.
Electrical
As per the owner's request for a custom style close to the stock, the exterior parts are Z1-R stock. The meter panel, which also serves as the cowl inner panel, features the Stack ST200 engine tachometer at the center, the Motogadget motoscope mini speedometer with indicator lamps on the left, and the Yoshimura Progress Meter on the right.
Engine
The DOHC 2-valve air-cooled straight 4 engine has been bored up to 1200cc using the Pistal Racing forged φ76mm piston. It features the Yoshimura ST-1 camshaft and a Mccoy 6-speed crossmission, all meticulously built according to GT-M's tuning menu. The crankcase bolts are made from Mccoy's chromoly for added durability. Additionally, auxiliary components include an added oil cooler, and the cylinder head cover and carburetor top cover are coated with a wrinkle paint.
Intake & Exhaust
The carburetor is a Yoshimura TMR φ36mm with a funnel specification, and the top cover has been finished with a red wrinkle paint for a color accent.
Chassis
The rearsets are from Mccoy and have been finely adjusted to find a comfortable position. The outboard & offset sprocket is an essential component to ensure the proper drivechain line and has been painted black to match the other parts.
The front forks clamped by the Mccoy upright Φ43mm stem kit are Ohlins RWU. The front brake features Brembo Axial P430/34 caliper & Sunstar brake disc. The bike's body color is white, with black parts as the main theme, giving a sophisticated impression, and accent colors have been strategically incorporated for an appealing look.
The rear shocks are from Ohlins, and the swingarm is Mccoy. The rear brake features Brembo P232 caliper & Sunstar brake disc. For the exhaust system, it has a full titanium 4-1 Win Mccoy full exhaust with a Win Mccoy silencer in a gradient design.
The wheels are equipped with Galespeed Type-S, as per the owner's request, and the wheel size has been changed from 2.15-18 to 3.50-17/6.00-17. However, the change doesn't give any sense of discomfort. These wheels are matched with Bridgestone RS11 tires in the sizes of 120/70ZR17 for the front and 190/55ZR17 for the rear.
