Affordable Freedom: KAWASAKI Ninja 250SL Custom

Webike's Opinion

Here is a "KAWASAKI Ninja 250SL" custom by Webike community user "Gorifu". The owner, in addition to his Little Cub and W650, has acquired a Ninja 250SL, which is a cost-effective and convenient bike for everything from touring to quick trips to the local supermarket. Due to its affordable price, he finds it easy to accept any shortcomings compared to his ideal expectations, which brings him peace of mind. He also appreciates its rarity on public roads and the slim body, which allows for quite a bit of handlebar movement even with clip-on handlebars. To address the issue of its relatively light weight for its size causing strong low- to mid-range torque but a lack of top-end power, he installed the NOJIMA GT Middle Slip-On Exhaust. The upgrade felt like clearing a blockage, with a solid boost in torque across the entire rev range. The sound at idle and low RPMs is excellent, and the sound at mid-range and higher speeds is not too loud, making it a considerate choice in urban environments.

Another favorite of his is the POSH Turn Signal Lens Unit. Although intended for the DAEG, it is bolt-on as the turn signal itself is the same. He is drawn to the 80s-style amber lenses with a smoky tint. He also uses the M&H Matsushima LED L-Beam, which is a rare LED with a regular light bulb-like color that he finds appealing. Additionally, the DEGNER Magnet Tank Bag is just the right size to carry his smartphone, ETC, and power bank. The bag’s color scheme, which looks as if it was designed specifically for the red and black bike, matches perfectly with this motorcycle. According to the owner, the magnet embedded in the part of the bag that the adorable cat in the below photo is touching does not initially stick to the tank when the fabric is still stiff, but after a few uses, the fabric softens and it fits perfectly.
