The Perfect Balance: KAWASAKI GPZ900R Custom

Webike's Opinion

Here is a "KAWASAKI GPZ900R" custom by Webike community user "Aka-kitsune". This GPZ900R was purchased for 350,000 yen, but it turned out to be quite the mischievous troublemaker, racking up a fair amount of repair costs over time. “Lately, though, I feel like I've gotten used to its quirks... or at least it feels that way,” says the owner.

With stock parts for the GPZ900R becoming increasingly scarce, the owner has cleverly adapted parts from the ZZR1100D, including the swingarm, radiator, gauges, and lower engine components. He’s satisfied with how well they fit. But his absolute favorite modification is the aero cowl from Magical Performance. This company specializes in crafting parts that break away from the stock design while maintaining the bike’s original essence, as if working magic. True to that concept, the cowl subtly enhances the Ninja’s front-end aesthetics without disrupting its iconic look. The red-and-black seat, which blends seamlessly with the bike’s color scheme, is also from the same brand.

For the exhaust, the bike is fitted with one from NITRO RACING, designed with performance in mind. The merge collector is positioned as close to the center as possible, improving riding performance, and its tail-up silhouette gives the custom NINJA a stronger appearance. According to the owner, it delivers excellent sound quality—but at an extremely loud volume, requiring some consideration for the neighbors. On the lower side of the bike, a black TG Nakagawa Under Cowl has been installed. This addition not only gives the bike a cleaner, more streamlined look but also serves a functional purpose—reducing air resistance at high speeds and shielding the bike from mud, rocks, and debris kicked up while riding.

Looking ahead, the owner plans to replace the upper and rear cowls, and overhaul or replace the rear shocks. Since the fender and side cowl were added later, their current color doesn't quite match the rest of the body, so the owner also wants to repaint the entire bike one day.
