Lightweight Mods with Timeless Appeal: KAWASAKI GPZ900R Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "KAWASAKI GPZ900R" custom by Webike community user "Maverick". As the owner's username suggests, he was inspired by that iconic movie and purchased the GPZ900R. According to the owner, the appearance is absolutely the best. Though overwhelmed by the many available custom parts, he seems to be enjoying his unique custom life. His current concern, however, is the bike’s weight. To address this, a STRIKER SUPER STRIKER TITAN Titanium Full Exhaust System was installed, aiming for weight reduction. This ultra-light model, with each pipe hand-bent, keeps the weight down to around 3 kilograms.
The handlebars are adjusted to fit the owner’s preferred position, using the cost-effective DAYTONA Machined Straight Bar for Clip-On Handlebars and DAYTONA’s machined clamps. For grips, the owner opted for the domino Touring Type Grips, which were developed in collaboration with a MotoGP team.
The seat, a part that inevitably shows wear over time, is one that should be refreshed regularly. The owner chose the DAYTONA Ripmo Seat, made with high-density urethane foam that has a firm, cushioned feel. This seat makes a significant difference in comfort on long tours. For wheels, he selected the GALE SPEED TYPE-R Forged Aluminum Wheels in gunmetal. The color choice gives a high-quality look without being overly flashy, enhancing the bike’s appearance without compromising its original style. The lightweight wheels improve handling, and the high rigidity of the spokes provides a ride that’s both reassuring and sharp.
