Honda Verza Cafe Racer by Rainbow Moto Builder
Rainbow Moto Builder's Verza
Back again with Webike’s special article discussing cool motorcycles modified by Indonesian builders. This time, Webike had the opportunity to chat with the owner of Rainbow Moto Builder, Adega Anggayasta (Instagram @adegaangga), who successfully transformed Honda Verza from a naked motorcycle into a full fairing cafe racer with Rainbow Moto Builder's signature touch. Rainbow Moto Builder chose Honda Verza as the base for this modification. According to them, Honda Verza is a durable motorcycle for the long term as this motorcycle is not easily damaged. Therefore, a new Honda Verza with injected engine was chosen. The technology is more up-to-date compared to other motorcycles in its 150 cc class. The smaller the cc, the greater the power, the more fuel-efficient it is. Maintenance is also easier.
Rainbow Moto Builder modifies motorcycles for various customer segments. Some are for daily use, while others are for branding purposes, such as for companies or businesses during events, including this Honda Verza cafe racer customer. This Honda Verza was made at the special request from the owner of Sukun cigarettes from Kudus, East Java, Indonesia, named Wartono. On the fairing, you can see many stickers of the owner's brands. In addition, there is the owner's name written in Japanese. For the concept itself, the owner likes Japanese culture and Japanese-style motorcycles. The builder came up with the idea to make it in the concept of a cafe racer, but using full fairing as to strengthen the impression of a 1960s racing motorcycle.
Handle
Rainbow Moto Builder's trademark is that the cockpit should look clean, luxurious and has minimum cables scattered around. The grips use RCB's HG55 grips. The brake master uses RCB oval type. Speedometer, tachometer, gasoline indicator, turn signal indicator must function normally even though this is a custom motorcycle. The cafe racer concept is closely tied with the use of separate handlebars. The choice fell to the Nui Racing separate handlebars tightened with bolts so they feel firm. For the mirrors, bar end mirrors from Rizoma are installed.
Electrical
Next, the headlight. The headlight uses the Daymaker 5.75 which is bright and functional.
Bodyworks
The tank is manufactured from a fairly thick, high-quality material. The tank cap is one of the prioritized parts of this custom tank. It is elegant, neat and a quick release type.
The stop lamp has a different concept than the others, using LED strip lights that are very attractive.
The seat is covered in MBtech leather which has top-notch quality in the market. The leather is good and not moldy, so it is strong and durable. It can be used for a long time.
The rear hornet (tail cowl) can convert the motorcycle into two types: single seat and double seat. If you want to ride in tandem, simply unscrew the two bolts on the right and two bolts on the left of the tail cowl. If you want to ride solo, you can put the tail cowl back on. Very practical!
The highlights of this Verza custom are the original fairing and windshield made by Rainbow Moto Builder. The windshield is made of acrylic. The fairing is made from a good and sturdy material so that the body does not wobble when the motorcycle is hit by strong winds. The number 24 on the body symbolizes the owner's date of birth.
Engine
The engine has been bored up to 155 cc using a package from BRT Racing. They selected the manufacturer type package for more precision and long-term use. Rainbow Moto Builder still maintains the stock Honda Verza engine mount to dampen vibrations. There are parts cut from the sub frame to the back. The front frame still uses the stock, so that the frame and engine numbers are still attached.
Intake & Exhaust
The full exhaust system was designed and produced by Rainbow Moto Builder. The material is full stainless steel.
Chassis
The front shock uses the Verza's stock, while the rear shock is fitted with a shock from YSS. The swingarm retains the stock one in order to maintain its quality. The steel Triple S gear set is also installed.
The riding position is made to be as comfortable as possible to avoid soreness in the arms and legs. For the rearset, it uses Honda Verza’s stock rearset. The riding position is still hunched, but still comfortable when turning.
Rainbow Moto Builder uses tires from local brand, FDR, Maxstream type 120/70-17 size for the front. The rear tire is of the same brand and type with a size of 140/70-17. These FDR tires have indicators for when the tires will run out: 25%, 50% and 75%, making it easier to keep track on when to change tires. This type of tire is suitable for the cafe racer motorcycle concept. The front wheel uses Sprint XD wheel by Velg Rossi (VRossi) with size of 250-17. The rear wheel also uses Sprint XD.
At Last
Those are the details of the Honda Verza custom by Rainbow Moto Builder. The process from the initial concept to the final result takes about 90 days. The owner's impression of the motorcycle is that when riding, there is no other motorcycle similar to his. The motorcycle is quite viral on TikTok so that many have requested Rainbow Moto Builder to make a custom similar to the concept, but based on a different motorcycle. What do you think, Webikers? Do you want your motorcycle to be modified into a cafe racer as well?
