Riding on Freedom: Honda Rebel 250(CMX250) Custom by DAYTONA
DAYTONA's Rebel 250(CMX250)
The Honda Rebel 250 has been a hit since its launch in 2017 and has already reached the status of a long-seller. While it falls into the cruiser category in terms of genre, it has a simple style that isn't limited to any particular genre. The bike's ease of use, thanks to its good footing, also allows for a wide range of enjoyment. It gives the impression of not committing to a certain style for a specific motorcycle. In 2020, the Rebel underwent changes by fully incorporating LED lights. This is a concept model based on such a current model. According to Daytona, the builder of the bike, the aim was to extend the freedom that the Rebel embodies into a more comprehensive package. With the Daytona Road Steering and the Short Rear Fender Kit, the bike evokes a feeling as if young riders on the west coast of the United States are effortlessly cruising around. Certainly, this sense of freedom is emphasized by features like the Lowered Rear Shock and Compact High-sider Turn Signals.
A Big Fin Kit has been added to the engine area, sandwiching the cylinder. The sleek cylinder of the Rebel's water-cooled single-cylinder engine takes on the tasteful look of an air-cooled engine. Moreover, with the addition of fins, the presence of the engine is enhanced, creating a fun gimmick. Some of these parts were reference exhibits at the '23 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, but they are scheduled to be gradually commercialized. The rest of the bike is also composed of Daytona's bolt-on parts. The appearance of this concept model can be reproduced with all bolt-on commercial parts, making it a quite interesting experiment. The exterior paint is done by Freestyle Paint, which is conveniently located near the Daytona headquarters. Of course, the same custom design is possible if requested. You can enjoy recreating the concept model as it is.
Handle
The handlebars are Daytona Road Steering φ25.4mm, which are flat and allow for a natural hand position. The mirrors are HIGHSIDER Bar End Montana Slim. The turn signals create a minimal impression with HIGHSIDER Apollo Classic.
Engine
The Big Fin Kit, attached to the engine cylinders, enhances the presence by giving the water-cooled Rebel the appearance of an air-cooled engine. It also raises expectations for some cooling effects.
Crash Bars are installed on the left and right sides of the engine, and a Velona Tachometer is also provided on the front left side of the frame. The front and rear seat covers are also made by Daytona.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system features a Daytona Megaphone-type Exhaust with a black end, and the rear shock is a Daytona Lowered Rear Shock with a length of 280mm in black. The 16-inch diameter front and rear stock wheels are coated with platinum silver powder coating by Dirt Freak, now part of the Daytona Group. Additionally, the engine cover is gun-coated in Burnt Bronze by Dirt Freak. The exterior paint and pinstripes are done by Freestyle Paint.
