Big Bore, Big Fun: HONDA DAX Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "HONDA DAX" custom by Webike community user "Ta-san". This bike was given to the owner by an acquaintance. He decided to put some work into it, and first things first, modified the engine to increase power. The displacement was increased to 88㏄ with KITACO's Light Big Bore Kit and the carburetor was replaced with a KEIHIN Φ20 using a Light Carburetor Kit, also by KITACO. This carburetor is the most popular for mini moto bikes and delivers power and torque that only a big carb can. It is especially effective for bikes equipped with the Light Big Bore Kit, and the owner commented that he definitely felt the carburetor replacement made the bike run better. For the big bore kit he chose the plated cylinder version, which boasts improved heat dissipation and durability, making the engine not only more powerful, but also more reliable and durable.
To keep up with the increased power, the exhaust was also replaced with a Racing Low-Mount Exhaust by OVER Racing. This exhaust is suitable for 88cc and larger big bore carbureted engines and is ideal for engines with higher specs. With these upgrades, the owner is enjoying his newfound speed.
After improving performance specs, he looked next to the element of convenience, purchasing and installing a TANAKA TRADING Rear Rack with Grab Bar and a KAPPA K26 Top Case. The K26 Top Case can be used to store a helmet and carry a few things, making both everyday rides in the city as well as longer trips easier. The bike was given to him second hand, but now that he has modified it for his own use, he is sure to be out there having a great ride even as we speak.
