From Recovery to the Road: HONDA CT125 HUNTER Cub(Trail125) Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "HONDA CT125 HUNTER Cub(Trail125)" custom by Webike community user "Tanpachi Umemura". The owner once "apparently caused" a rear-end collision on his bike. He suffered a brain hemorrhage and was hospitalized in the ICU. He says "apparently caused" because he has no memory of the accident, and unfortunately, the incident was ruled entirely his fault (0:100). With no way to contest the decision, he had to accept it. Since then, he’s made it a point never to ride without a dashcam. The mount he highly recommends for this is the PLOT Dashcam Mount. As it is specifically for dashcams, it secures the camera with just two small screws and offers a wide adjustment range. The owner comments that it’s far superior to just trying to attach the camera with whatever nuts and bolts you have laying around to save money.
Among the other top-rated parts he swears by, one is the PRO GRIP Superbike Grip #601. He emphasizes the importance of using a strong adhesive to keep the grips firmly in place. They provide a noticeable reduction in vibration, which helps reduce fatigue on long rides. Another favorite is the KITACO Super Throttle Pipe. While it doesn't affect output, the owner finds the throttle action smoother and easier to control—especially important given his wrist injury from the accident. Reducing strain on his wrist and arms is a priority.
After experiencing the benefits of a T-REV on his Ural Sidecar, he installed one on this CT125 Hunter Cub as well. It reduces resistance inside the crankcase, allowing the engine to run more smoothly, and the improvement was noticeable right away. The rear suspension, which the owner found underwhelming, was upgraded to the high-performance NITRON Twin Shock, TWIN R1 series. The price tag reflects the quality, but he believes it’s worth every penny. The suspension absorbs bumps gracefully, providing a supple ride and improving stability, and the striking turquoise color also adds flair and enhances the bike’s appearance.
