PLOT's CT125 huntercub

Based on the Honda Super Cub platform, but with a longer suspension and higher ground clearance. Although it has only been released for two years, the Honda CT125 (Trail 125) has been very popular among the motorcycle camping enthusiasts. Absolutely they always focus on the loading performance while selecting a motorcycle.

"Hunter Cub", as the name suggests, the CT125 is used within the city as well as on trails and various outdoor activities such as touring and camping. At the 2022 Tokyo Motorcycle Show, custom builder "PLOT" released a "LEISURELY ADVENTURE STYLE" CT125. I also took some photos to get the details, so let's take a look.

Intake & Exhaust

Nojima Engineering has introduced the FASARM M2 Titanium Exhaust for CT125 Hunter Cub with beautiful unique heat coloring.

It has the same up-type as the stock exhaust but the weight is less than half of that.

I was amazed by the loadability of this model, and you've probably seen this kind of mount kits on the Suzuki Jimny and other Cross Country vehicles. The side mount kit allows the carrying container to be carried on the side of the bike without using the upper space of the rear rack, thus making efficient use of loading space. It can also be used as a universal bag holder for one side.

The RotopaX Red Container enhances the CT125's wild look. Although gasoline cannot be filled in this container due to Japanese regulations, it can be filled with water, making it convenient for camping, fishing, and other outdoor recreational activities.

Seat bag ideal for long camping tours. Thick reinforcing plates in the front, back and bottom increase the rigidity of the bag for stable loading. Ballistic nylon is used, which is a tough fabric developed for military use that is strong and waterproof. It is also used in bulletproof vests, and its high durability against friction and tearing makes it an ideal material for motorcycle gear. The lining is made of PVC material for waterproofness.

It's a bit of a hassle because I need two hands to open the seat. Many CT125 owners complain about this. To solve this problem, the GEL-ZAB C was developed. This pull-up seat opener is also the biggest highlight of this custom bike. Just twist the key and it will open by itself.

The red bar end weights and the bike color match very well, and absorbs fine vibrations transmitted to the grip by a rubber-mounted balancer shaft. The EFFEX EZ Fit Handlebar is a slightly more compact position than the stock, and is designed to be closer to the handlebar position of a typical sport naked bike. This compact and easy-to-steer handlebar position is recommended for riders who use the CT125 for touring mainly on paved roads. PILOT also installed the necessary grip heater to help riders combat the cold in the trails.

The circular white decal on the mirror serves as a design accent, is made of a light-reflecting material to enhance visibility as well as design. The mirror also inherits the features of conventional Doubletake Mirror, which are "robustness" and "convenience" in that it can be folded easily.
