A Nostalgic Ride with a Modern Touch: HONDA CL250 Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "HONDA CL250" custom by Webike community user "copo". The owner of this CL250 recalls feeling a mix of nostalgia and anticipation when he first saw CG images of the bike before its release, reminiscing about motorcycles like the Silk Road from the 1980s. After the CL250 became available, the owner visited a few motorcycle shops to find a bike for his daughter, he unexpectedly ended up reserving one for himself as well, alongside his daughter's bike.
The all-black engine and chassis give it a bold, clean look, while the powerful, flowing high-mount exhaust accentuates the scrambler style. At the same time, it brings a fresh twist to the classic design. The owner says that the chunky rear tire stands out as a defining feature, while the overall design remains simple yet undeniably captivating. On top of that, the bike offers excellent maintenance access, is easy to handle, and comes equipped with a powerful, torquey engine that makes riding carefree and enjoyable. Among the other features that the owner praises are the high-visibility quad-LED projector headlight and the thoughtfully designed grips, which provide outstanding comfort.
According to the owner, the most noticeable change came from swapping out the stock chain for a ThreeD LUXE Chain by EK Chain. This upgrade dramatically improved the motorcycle’s quietness and sense of direct responsiveness. For a scrambler designed to tackle unpaved roads, a skid plate to protect the engine from small stones is a must-have. The owner chose an ACTIVE Skid Plate with a matte-anodized finish, though he mentions that it reflects engine noise, making it louder.
To improve storage capacity, the owner has considered adding a rear box but has decided for now to preserve the scrambler style by fitting a Henly Begins Saddlebag instead. Additionally, to address the short front fender, which tends to cause mud splatter, he installed a P&A International Front Fender Extender, which has helped reduce the issue.
