The Handlebar That Changed It All: HONDA CB1000R Custom

Webike's Opinion

Here is a "HONDA CB1000R" custom by Webike community user "CB1000R.Japan". For the owner, the CB1000R is the perfect bike—one he stumbled upon while searching for something fun to ride after getting his large motorcycle license. His top recommended modification is the DAYTONA Clip-On Style Road Steering Handlebar. Before the change, the bike felt sluggish when leaning at low speeds, making it hard to lean into turns. But with the new handlebars, it now leans in effortlessly. The slightly more forward-leaning position also enhances front-end feel, creating a stronger sense of connection with the bike and boosting confidence. On top of that, shifting more weight forward naturally helps keep the front end planted, allowing for stronger acceleration. The owner firmly believes that before spending money on suspension or brake upgrades to improve handling, CB1000R riders should first try changing the handlebars.

For the exhaust, he replaced the stock system with a MIVV GP Pro Slip-On Exhaust, aiming to both boost power and reduce weight. MIVV, an Italian brand known for crafting exhausts that blend premium performance with striking design, creates exhausts that captivate riders. He immediately noticed a lighter feel and an increase in low-end torque. To complement the setup, he installed the MIVV NO-KAT PIPE, featuring a coiled shape that not only looks aggressive but also helps maintain pipe length, ensuring no loss of torque. The owner mentions that the already ferocious CB1000R becomes even more brutal in its throttle response. He also upgraded the suspension to a NITRON Rear Suspension, which significantly improves ride quality by eliminating discomfort when riding over cracks in the road and enhancing grip on corners.

As for his next project, he’s planning to have a custom one-off rocket cowl made. There’s no doubt that pairing a CB1000R with a rocket cowl will elevate both aerodynamics and aesthetics, making for an even more striking machine.
